Lebron James is one of the most influential NBA player of this time, his smart risk taking move in sport and business ventures made him one of the richest athlete of the world. Early this month he announced the end of his business relationship with the well established fast food giant Mc donald to get involve with the new trending pizza fast food start up Blaze Pizza.
In a news release announcing the partnership, Lebron James said “Blaze Pizza isn’t your typical pizza chain their model is literally changing the future of the fast casual industry altogether. I initially invested in this company because I knew it was a special idea that offered something people would want. Now I’m excited to go all in with Blaze Pizza in this new role and continue to give people a whole new experience”.

Some people might wonder why would he end a multi million dollar deal with fast food giant Mcdonald’s for a Pizza start up franchise? Well for those who never heard of Blaze Pizza , it is a chipotle like but for pizza , the company was founded in 2012, since then the company have seen a 450% growth with 88 stores without the marketing help of Lebron James,they are planning to open 200 more by the end of 2016, with lebron James as their new marketing front men, this goal seem feasible with his 38 millions follower throughout all his social media, Blaze pizza will have a huge advantage comparing to his competitors, add to that their new concept of assembly line for pizza same as subway and chipotle has but for pizza.
Now getting to the money side , Lebron james is not only a simple ambassador for the pizza start up he is also an investor owning around 10% of the company, looking at the growth rate we can easily predict an IPO for this young start up in next 3 to 5 years, let imagine that after that IPO the company is value at 3 billions minimum, with a 10% share Lebron James will add another $300 millions to his current $300 millions net worth, with that in mind we can easily predict that Lebron James is on the way to reach the billionaire club anytime soon knowing that Pizza Blaze is not his only business venture, he also has a very successful Lebron sneaker collections and more other ventures. Micheal Jordan will soon not be all alone on his throne!
